INTERNATIONAL DAYS

The International days are occasions to educate the general public on issues of concern, to mobilize political will and resources to address global problems, and to celebrate and reinforce achievements of humanity.

About the

Each international day offers many actors the opportunity to organize activities related to the theme of the day. The United Nations International Organizations; The offices of the United Nations system, and most importantly, governments, civil society organizations, the public and private sectors, schools, universities and, more generally, citizens, to make an international day a springboard for awareness-raising actions.

The majority of the UN observances have been established by resolutions of the United Nations General Assembly, although some have been designated by UN specialized agencies. The United Nations also observes International weeks. anniversaries; International years, International decades of key events in its history.
